Tapsee beleives in Talent than Skin Show

With lead actresses like Trisha, Asin, Nayanthara (who is on the verge of retiring) and Shriya Saran moving away from Kollywood, it is time for young and vibrant girls to make their foray into K’town. Taapsee Pannu, the tall Punjabi girl who is already a hit in Tollywood is all set to sizzle in Tamil films soon. Said to be the next big thing in Kollywood, with two films in her kitty – Aadukalam and Vandhaan Vendraan, the former Miss India winner for Best Skin, Taapsee, talks to DC about her passion for dance, entry into films and working with Dhanush in a candid interview.
From modelling to tinsel town: It was not a planned move. I am a very transparent person and need a new challenge every day. With my numerous modelling assignments, initially I never thought I could ever act. After a point, modelling became so monotonous and I needed a change. I thought entering the film industry would give me more opportunities to meet various people and travel while doing films. Around the same time, I was called for Aadukalam.
On replacing Trisha in Aadukalam: My first film offer was from Kollywood although my subsequent Telugu film Jhumandi Naadam got released recently. When I came down to Chennai, I did not know anything about me replacing Trisha. I had no clue about how big actor Dhanush and director Vetri Maaran were. I was told that they were searching for a heroine.
The language
barrier: Even when I was in my second year of engineering, I got offers from Tollywood. I was apprehensive to take it up due to my fear of coping with the language. And, the whole process of shooting for a movie was fast for me. But I was determined to learn and be a part of the team. Vetri Maaran sir was particular that there should be no prompting, no cut shots, which sounded rude to me initially, but later I realised that it was for my own good. To top it all, the language was a Madurai slang. Fortunately, he gave me proper training on my dialect, looks and the role. And since I’ve learnt Kathak for eight years, my dancing skills came in handy.
On her role in Aadukalam: I play Irene Clauge, an Anglo Indian from Madurai who is pressurized by her family to go to Australia for higher studies. But since she is more grounded, independent and strong here, she wants to stay back. I’m looking forward to the movie and waiting for the audiences’ reaction.
Experiences while working with Dhanush: I was very comfortable with him. After I came here, I realised the kind of fan following that Dhanush had. At no point of time he made me feel that he was a big star. He is a person who is very genuine on screen as well as off it. He used to share his experiences of how he started from scratch and has achieved what he has today.
On Vetri Maaran: The character I play was not even one per cent close to my real life! But I am touched by the faith Vetri sir had in me. He transformed me completely to fit the character. Whenever I get worked up Dhanush and Vetri sir would say, ‘We are there’.”
On SKIN SHOW: Raghavendra Rao uncle is a veteran, who projects his heroines in a classy manner. So the question never arose there. But I can’t take the risk with every director. I really do not want to go overboard and I am not in for exposing! My performance should fetch me more films rather than my skin show. Though I am unpredictable in real life, my principles and objectives remain the same. I came to the industry after I completed my engineering degree and with an offer letter from Infosys. When I entered films, I was prepared for anything. I also had A-B-C plans to fall back upon. It is not for the money that I am here. It is the love for the field that brought me here.
On selecting roles: Something should tell me that this film will work. In my next Tamil film, Vandaan Vendran, with Jiiva, which is directed by Kannan, my role is totally different. I play Anjana, who has studied abroad and has come back here. The role is that of a city-bred girl. I am excited to be a part of the project. Similarly, every role I play in Telugu films is surprising. I am working with Vishnu in Hemanth Madhurkar’s debut Telugu direction. In Prabha’s film with Dasarath, I play a tomboy. And there is one more film titled Veera with Ravi Teja
Bollywood beckons: I did get few offers from Bollywood. But as of now, my hands are full with Telugu and Tamil projects. I am not desperate to get into Bollywood now. If something comes along, that’s fine.

Swara Says She Bonded Very Well With Kangana

Actress Swara Bhaskar, who plays Kangana Ranaut's best friend in "Tanu Weds Manu", rubbishes reports that her co-star is a snob saying she has no airs and provides comfort to people around her.

"I spent most of the time filming with Kangana as my character of Payal is her close friend who acts as a ticker in her life. By ticker I mean, my character gives a reality check to her at every point in the film," said Swara who also worked in "Madholal Keep Walking".

"Working with Kangana was a good experience. She is very chilled out and friendly. She is just the opposite of what people portray her as - she is not snobbish. She is very approachable and has no airs attached to her persona. We got along very well, we also went out for break together so that we could share compatibility which was required for our roles respectively."

Apart from "Madholal Keep Walking", Swara also worked in "Niyati" which was directed by Pravesh Bhardwaj.

The 25-year-old is a graduate in English Literature from University of Delhi and did her masters in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, but saw her future in movies.

"I love the medium. I love the way the camera comes closer to your body and if you have spark in you to act, you cannot avoid it then. I am a firm believer of training. I have learnt the classical Indian dance form Bharatnatyam and also got training in theatre under veteran Delhi theatre personality N.K. Sharma in his group Act One."

Her future plans is to do "meaty roles. Roles that make me feel exhausted by the time it ends. I am fond of love stories and comedies. I want to do a lead role now".

Kajol and Ajay Devgan wedding / Marriage

No doubt that Kajol and Ajay Devgan are one among the cute perfect couples. They fell in love and married without much gossips..!!  Ajay Devgan & Kajol dated for few years even before marriage. But there were not any great controversies or gossips, everything was fine between them.
Kajol daughter of actress Tanuja and film producer Shomu Mukherjee married the bollywood actor Ajay Devgan on 24th February 1999. Mehndi ceremony was also held at Kajol’s apartment in Bombay a day before the wedding. It was a simple marriage ceremony attended by few close friends and relatives. The wedding ceremony was held at Ajay’s residence Varsha, in Juhu. The ceremonies were performed in the late evening at 7 pm.
The newly wedded couples went to Europe, Egypt, and Australia for their honeymoon. It was reported that Kajol will continue to act in films even after their marriage. Ajay Devgan said that its left to her and he has nothing to decide. He gave full freedom to his wife to decide.
“I’ve sent a legal notice to the columnist who’s written that Kajol and I are breaking up. Either she tenders a written apology or prepares to face the consequences. It’s the giddy limit. Kajol and I know each other inside out so nothing can instigate us. Even if there was an iota of truth in the rumours, I’d have kept quiet. But totally baseless accusations can’t be taken lying down.” (Filmfare, Dec. 2001)
“I do not want to comment on my personal affairs. People talk too much — it’s really irritating me now. They jump to conclusions for no reason, without sufficient proof. I never talk about my personal life. After these rumours, I definitely do not want to comment on anything.” [About personal life]
“There is no secret at all. It has worked because both of us wanted it to work and we have tremendous love plus respect for one another. You need to work on a relationship and that is what we do in our own little ways every single day. The feeling of caring must be there in both the partners and this does not begin or end with those three words ‘I love you.’ It is true that I am possessive about him in the same way that I am possessive about Nysa. But we also realise that we need to give some space to each other to grow individually, as a married couple and as Nysa’s parents. It is not that we do not have fights or arguments. But these are the things that add spice to a marriage, don’t they?” [About secret of happy marriage]
“A woman should trust her husband , only then will she be able to win him over , I’ve been born and brought up in this industry and know that here smoke can be conjured up without a fire . I trust my husband more than the rumours . I married him because I love him.”
“He was my husband at home and was the ruthlessly dominating boss on the sets and he told me to accept this change in the equation much before shooting began. After all, I have been an actress for too long to forget my professionalism on the sets and in front of the camera. Not that it did not disturb me at times, but I learnt to cope with it when I understood that he needed to cope with the changed equation as much as I did. He was so well organized that he left no scope at all for discussion, debate or argument.” [About Ajay as director of "U, Me aur Hum" ]
After her marriage the film industry believed that she won’t come back again to the movies thus ending her career with her “Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi”. She didin’t even gave any interviews to the media thus adding more doubts about her come back. It was reported that her in laws are expecting her to stay home and pay more attention to family. kajol neither admitted nor denied tha gossips. She gave a shock with her come back in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham which was a blackbuster of the year.
Kajol said:  ” As a Devgan daughter-in-law  and a member on the Board of Directors of the family’s company , I won’t be able to devote all my time to acting . I’ve thus decided to do one film at a time”
Kajol states ” I don’t believe this at all .It depends on the image of the heroine .If there is depth in her acting and if she is an actress to reckon within then marriage does not make any difference . But if she is only a Sex symbol or decorative doll , then marriage does make a difference . The careers of Hema Malini , Raakhee and Sharmila Tagore survived marriage. They were in the limelight  for years after their marriage . A lot of planning has gone into the selection of my films . I’ve never taken the shortcut to fame i.e. via sex and glamour , nor have i ever worked with incompetent directors . Even earlier I didn’t accept many films and now with responsibilities of the home and the company , I do not have much time to devote to acting.”
Her movies after marriage includes many hits like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Fanaa.
